Be Prepared For Winter!
No one wants to leave the house in the winter, unless you’re going to Florida or some fun snowy activity. Unfortunately, we are all forced to leave the house for some reason or another. This can be hard especially when the temperatures start to drop close to, if not below zero and when the snow really starts piling on. No matter what the case, you should be prepared just in case anything was to happen. Here are a few things to consider before making that drive this winter.
Let’s start off with the things that are going to benefit you in the survival department. Because the winters can get so cold, I strongly suggest you throw some blankets and extra layers of clothing into the trunk of your car. Warmth is going to be extremely important, especially if you don’t know how long you will be stuck and if you are unable to turn the car back on. Other things you should consider include food, water, and first aid, for obvious reasons. Flashlights, battery powered radio, and batteries wouldn’t be a bad idea either. A radio could keep you up to date on what’s going on beyond your car weather wise.
Now, here are some things that will benefit you in the ‘escape’ department. Jumper cables are something that I personally keep in my car all year round. You never know when you will need these. Ice scrapers are also commonly seen in the northeastern winter car. Winter emergency items should also include sand/cat litter and a shovel! I don’t know about you, but I constantly get stuck. The sand or cat litter really helps give you a boost. Other items that you might want to bring along include tire sealant and a tool kit for little fixes.
And there you have it! Your own little emergency kit for the season. Wish all of you a safe and happy winter season!! Contact us for all of your water damage restoration needs day or night!
